SMART Goals For Managers

SMART stands for:

S: Specific – Each objective should be clearly stated

M: Measurable- It is important to measure whether or not objectives have been achieved

A: Attainable – Each target or objective should be attainable

R: Relevant – Each objective should be relevant to the organization.

T: Timely – A Time limit should be set to meet the objective or targets.

SMART is an effective tool that provides clarity, focus and motivation teams need to achieve goals. It can improve a team’s ability to achieve them by encouraging them to define and plan objectives as well as a completion date.
